ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Central Washington University’s counseling center’s pre-doctoral internship program for psychology has been approved for membership in the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC).
Membership was awarded because of the diligent and dedicated work of training director Dr. Pat Cole, a licensed psychologist. She was assisted in this endeavor by Dr. Randy Robinette, a licensed psychologist, and Dr. Gail Robbins.
“Compliance requirements are stringent, and the Center has been working for more than two years to receive this valued membership,” said Bob Trumpy, director of student health and counseling.
Trumpy added that the annual placement of up to three pre- or postdoctoral candidates working toward their doctorate and/or licensure as a psychologist is a huge win-win for the candidates and CWU students.
“The university gets seasoned counselors working to advance their professional careers and licensure, under the supervision of Drs. Cole, Robinette and Robbins,” Trumpy said. “We’re honored to have this distinction.”
