CWU To Present Reading By Award-Winning PoetFebruary 10, 2005Contact: Alison Barbour (509-963-1546/fax 509-963-1561/e-mail: barboura@cwu.edu) ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Critically acclaimed poet Mark Wunderlich will present selected works during a free, public poetry reading, sponsored by the Central Washington University English department, Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in Grupe Center on the Ellensburg campus. Wunderlich is the author of two poetry collections: "Voluntary Servitude," recently published by Graywolf Press, and "The Anchorage," for which he received a 1999 Lambda Literary Award in the Gay Men's Poetry category. The annual awards recognize and honor the best in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender literature. His poems, essays, reviews and interviews have appeared in "The Paris Review," "Boston Review," "Slate" and "The New England Review." He has taught undergraduates at Stanford University and Barnard College; and been a member of the faculty in the graduate writing programs at Sarah Lawrence College, Ohio University and San Francisco State University. In addition, Wunderlich has served as host and producer of a nationally distributed radio program of author interviews. He was the recipient of 2004 National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, the Amy Lowell Traveling Fellowship, a Wallace Stegner Fellowship from Stanford University, and two fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Mass. Wunderlich lives in New York's Hudson River Valley and serves as a literature professor at Bennington (Vt.) College.
