ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Bobby Cummings, Central Washington University English professor, has been elected to the executive committee of the Conference on English Education (CEE), a constituent group for teacher educators within the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). The executive committee is the primary governing body of CEE. Committee members serve four-year terms.
Cummings also serves as the English education coordinator at CWU, director of the Central Washington Writing Project and as a Washington state writing assessment trainer. In addition, she is a former member of the Conference on College Composition and Communication Executive Committee, Committee on Computers and Black Caucus.
CEE provides a forum for sharing ideas on pre-service and in-service teacher education for English. More than 2,700 teacher educators, English language arts supervisors, curriculum developers, English department heads and classroom teachers are members.
NCTE, with 75,000 individual and institutional members worldwide, is dedicated to improving the teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels of education.
