ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Central Washington University's fourth annual 'steak
and lobster fest' will be held Friday, Sept. 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30
p.m. at the university's new grounds building at the Jongeward Plant Service
Building.
The event is designed to enhance campus climate and boost morale,
according to Ed Snyder, facilities planning and construction services
project coordinator, who serves as event organizer.
"While it's designed for the university personnel, members of the
community are also welcome to attend, but they better bring along a hearty
appetite," Snyder says, with a laugh.
Last year 250 people attended, and about 300 are expected this year,
Snyder says. Those attending can enjoy a New York-cut steak and Maine
lobster lunch, or a steak or lobster only meal, all of which will include
potatoes, corn, salad, rolls, dessert and beverages. Volunteer chefs, from
throughout the university community, will prepare the meals.
Along with the food, there will be live entertainment and drawings for
door prizes, according to Snyder.
Tickets must be purchased in advance.
The deadline is Monday, Sept. 16, at 5 p.m. For ticket pricing, to
purchase tickets, or for more information, call (509) 963-1864 or for (the
hearing impaired) TDD 509-963-3323.
