ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Heather Harrell, accountant principal in the Central Washington University grants and contracts office, has been named CWU’s June civil service employee of the month.
Those nominating Harrell said:
- “She is always thorough and accurate with the information she provides.”
- Heather treats everyone with patience, kindness and respect in the confusing times of learning a new budget software program.”
- Heather shows great personal initiative and excellent listening skills when a “problem” is presented. She develops a ‘solution’ and explains the issues in terms clear to those not intimately acquainted with the details of the old and new (university financial) systems.”
- “She’s a gem — clone her!”
During a surprise ceremony today (Friday, Aug. 2) on campus, Harrell received a certificate and $100 cash award from the president’s discretionary fund, through the CWU civil service employee recognition program.
A panel of CWU classified staff members reviews monthly nominations and selects the top nominees, whose names are presented to the employee council, which votes on the employee of the month.
CWU students, faculty and staff, as well as Ellensburg community members, are eligible to make nominations, which may be made anonymously. Nomination forms are available from the CWU human resources office and employee council representatives. For more information, call (509) 963-1202, or (for the hearing impaired) TDD (509) 963-3323.
