ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Darcie Correa, the Bouillon Hall custodian at Central Washington University, has been named CWU’s July civil service employee of the month.
Those nominating Correa said:
“Darcie takes a lot of pride in her work and is never afraid to go the extra distance when it comes to keeping her area looking good. She is always making extra checks to see if everything is OK.”
“Darcie is always concerned about others and is always ready to help out wherever needed.”
“She sets an excellent standard for custodial staff.”
During a recent surprise ceremony (Tuesday, Aug. 13) on campus, Correa received a certificate and $100 cash award from the president’s discretionary fund, through the CWU civil service employee recognition program.
A panel of CWU classified staff members reviews monthly nominations and selects the top nominees, whose names are presented to the employee council, which votes on the employee of the month.
CWU students, faculty and staff, as well as Ellensburg community members, are eligible to make nominations, which may be made anonymously. Nomination forms are available from the CWU human resources office and employee council representatives. For more information, call (509) 963-1202, or (for the hearing impaired) TDD (509) 963-3323.
