ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Central Washington University will host a Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) regional conference Saturday, April 26, on the Ellensburg campus.

“Our theme will be ‘Stop, Plan and Play: Special Events in Public Relations,” Sarabeth Anderson, CWU PRSSA president, said. The student-run conference, will feature speakers and presentations focusing on researching, planning and executing special events.

Bill Rietveldt, events coordinator for the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce, will give the keynote address during an awards dinner.

“This will be a great networking and learning experience for all,” Annie Johnson, event director, says.

Students and faculty members from more than 30 regional colleges and universities have been invited to attend, regardless of whether they have an active PRSSA chapter.

For more information, contact Johnson at johnsann@cwu.edu or call (509) 933-3624, or (for the hearing impaired) TDD (509) 963-2143.

Founded in 1968 by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), PRSSA’s purpose is to cultivate a favorable and mutually advantageous relationship between students and professional public relations practitioners.

More than 7,000 members are now involved in 227 collegiate PRSSA chapters.
