ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Central Washington University will host
a Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) regional
conference Saturday, April 26, on the Ellensburg campus.
“Our theme will be ‘Stop, Plan and Play: Special Events in
Public Relations,” Sarabeth Anderson, CWU PRSSA president, said.
The student-run conference, will feature speakers and presentations
focusing on researching, planning and executing special events.
Bill Rietveldt, events coordinator for the Leavenworth
Chamber of Commerce, will give the keynote address during an awards
dinner.
“This will be a great networking and learning experience for all,”
Annie Johnson, event director, says.
Students and faculty members from more than 30 regional
colleges and universities have been invited to attend, regardless of
whether they have an active PRSSA chapter.

Founded in 1968 by the Public Relations Society of America
(PRSA), PRSSA’s purpose is to cultivate a favorable and mutually
advantageous relationship between students and professional public
relations practitioners.
More than 7,000 members are now involved in 227 collegiate
PRSSA chapters.
