CWU Wakeboard Club Takes 1st Place at the 2009
West Collegiate Regional Wakeboard Competition

The CWU Wakeboard Club traveled to Chico, California to compete in the 2009 West Collegiate Regional Wakeboard Competition. The event took place on October 24 & 25th. Last year the club made the same trip to compete in the same competition and took third place in their first competition as a club. This year the club placed first and is the top seeded team to beat from the west coast!

In the event, riders compete on Saturday, and the top riders then compete in the finals on Sunday. 10 riders qualified for the Finals on Sunday: Jake Pedersen, Kelly Clinefelter, Scott McCulloch, Ryan Cearley, Sean Harris, Nick Haisch, Mike McKinney, Brett Lund, Eddie Roberts and Thomas Olson.

In the Finals on Sunday the riders placed well. 6 of the riders placed in the top 3 in their divisions! The results were as follows:
Kelly Clinefelter: 1st Place Mens Intermediate Wakeboarding
Sean Harris: 1st Place Mens Advanced Wakeboarding
Thomas Olson: 1st Place Mens Wakeboarding Pro Division
Nick Haisch: 2nd Place Men’s Wakeskate
Ryan Cearley: 2nd Place Men’s Advanced Wakeboarding
Eddie Roberts: 2nd Place Men’s Expert Wakeboarding
Mike McKinney: 3rd Place Men’s Wakeskate

In addition to competing, the club has recently been working on a film featuring members of the club. The movie is close to being completed, so watch for the film to premier this spring.
