CWU Tennis Club Won the Championship Consolation
Bracket, Beating OSU 1 in the Finals 28-25

The team did really well winning 3 of their 5 matches. We played University of Oregon 1 bright and early Saturday morning, losing to them in a hard fought battle. The next team in our pool was UW 2 which we beat handily. We won enough games on Saturday to qualify us for the Championship bracket. We played Portland State University Sunday morning, losing 20-24 to them, it was a good match and all of our players played well. That put us into the consolation side of the bracket where we faced University of Victoria 1, whose team won the entire tournament 2 years ago. We were pumped and ready to fight out a win and that is exactly what we did beating U Vic 31-18! We went into the consolation finals against OSU 1, who we are actually really good friends with. Everyone played a good match and the deciding points came down to the mixed doubles match. AnnElise and Sam went into the match, with Central up 22-20. At the changeover they were down 3-5, but subbing Sam out and replacing him with our singles player, Hiroto made all of the difference! They came out on top, winning the mixed match in the tie breaker (5-3)! This is the best performance the Central Tennis has had at the Fall Sectional Tournament and they look forward to the regular season beginning late January!
