FAQ
What sports does Intramurals offer?
Intramurals offer a wide range of leagues and tournaments based on the season. Annually, Intramurals offers leagues for Basketball, Volleyball, Dodgeball, Flag Football, Arena Football, Badminton, Softball, Tennis, and Outdoor/Indoor Soccer. Intramurals also offers tournaments during the quarter such as Water Polo, Basketball, Whiffle Ball, & Beach Volleyball.

Who can participate in Intramural Sports?

All Central Washington University students, staff, and faculty are invited to participate in Intramurals. College varsity athletes must wait one year to participate in sports which they have lettered. Dependents of any student, staff, or faculty over the age of 18 are also eligible to participate.

How can I participate in Intramurals?
Signing up a Team:
People interested in forming their own team can download the registration form on-line or pick up a registration form from the Access Control desk at the Student Recreation Center. The registration form allows you to pick the sport and league which best suits your schedule. Fill out the form completely with the required signatures. If you are unable to recruit enough teammates there is a free agent list at the Recreation Center with interested athletes. Return the completed form to the Student Recreation Center along with the Registration fee.

Signing up as an Individual:
Students interested in participating, but do not want to form their own team, can sign up as a Free Agent. Students must sign up on the Free Agent list at the Recreation Center Access Control Desk. As a Free Agent, you are not guaranteed to participate in Intramurals for that quarter and there is no fee associated with being on the Free Agent list. The Free Agent list is a resource to be used by Team captains whom are unable to field a full team.

When can I sign up?
Registrations for each quarter begin during Finals week of the preceding Quarter (i.e. Winter Quarter registration begins during Finals week for Fall Quarter). There are two deadlines for registration. The Early registration allows teams to sign up for a discounted price. The Late registration deadline is the last possible day to sign up and teams are required to pay the full registration price.

What are the Team Captain's responsibilities?
The Team Captain is the main contact between the Intramural Sports office and their team. Team Captains are responsible for their team's knowledge of the rules and sportsmanship requirements. They are responsible for notifying the Intramural Sports office 24 hours in advance of any cancellations during the season. They are responsible for all team members' actions during the course of the season and will be responsible for any forfeit fines incurred by their team. Forfeit fines are $20 and unpaid fines will be assessed to the Team Captain's student account at the end of each quarter.

When and Where do I play?
Schedules for each league are posted on the Intramural Home Page and at the Recreation Center. Additionally, Team Captains will be provided with a schedule of game times available for pick up the day after the Mandatory Captain's Meeting. Games will be played either at Nicholson Pavilion or the Student Recreation Center depending on the sport and league.

How many Teams can I play with?
Students are allowed to compete in as many sports as they wish. Students will not be allowed to participate on two teams within the same league.

When are my practice times?
The Intramural Sports office does not schedule practice times for any sport or league. The Student Recreation Center is open 6 am - 12 am throughout the quarter for teams to use the facilities.

How do I become an official?
The Intramural Sports office is always seeking enthusiastic students to raise the quality of performance in their officials. Students interested in a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead competitive and recreational sporting events are encouraged to fill out an application and return it to the Recreation Center.

Why participate in Intramurals?
Intramural Sports allow students to have fun and play great sports while trying to win the coveted "Champion's T-Shirt."
