Sales are offered to the public when enough stock becomes available (generally 4-11 per year). To purchase items you must submit a sealed bid during one of the sales. If, at the conclusion of the sale, you are the high bidder we will contact you by phone so pickup can be scheduled. Successful bidders must pick up all items within 3 working days of notification. Send an email to Jason Bakeman to be added to the Surplus Sale Mailing List.
University departments are welcome to view items available for redistribution by calling Dave at x2157. Items prepared for outside surplus sales are not available for redistribution. Items not to be redistributed on campus include: wood furniture, abandoned property, audio visual equipment, computers (unless approved by CSS Dept.), office chairs (4-legged swivel type), misc. computer workstation tables, file cabinets (unless "Steelcase" brand), and metal bookcases over 5' tall.
Only auxiliary funded/self support departments receive money back from sales of surplus items. These departments are as follows: 1) Campus Life, 2) Central Stores, 3) Conference Center, 4) Dining Services, 5) University Housing and New Student Programs, 6) Ergonomic Chairs, 7) Surplus and Asset Management, 8) Public Safety and Police Services, 10) University Book Store, 11) Motor Pool Operations.
All revenue earned from the sale of property shall be submitted to the Surplus and Asset Management department for deposit.
