PT3: Project CROAK |
|
Our vision is to provide Zillah area students with the technological resources and expertise to design authentic research projects to address ecological questions concerning the habitat relationships, biodiversity, and biology of amphibians found in their local area. This project actively engages high school students in science and technology integration. The Professional Learning Community (PLC) has worked to develop an integrated curriculum using technology to enhance the development statistical, probability, computer, DNA technology, chemistry and communication skills. The goal is to design an integrated curriculum that is focused developing survey methods and data collection procedures to provide baseline data to implement long-term ecological and genetic research projects. Overall, the students will conduct amphibian surveys and develop monitoring strategies, assess ecological and habitat parameters, assess the accuracy of the collected data and develop strategies to best communicate their results to the general public which include: powerpoint, multimedia, and web based methods. |
