The Chimpanzee and Human Communication Institute
(CHCI), Dr. Roger Fouts and Deborah Fouts (Co-Directors) and Dr. Mary Lee Jensvold (Assistant Director). The CHCI is an associated
facility providing internships, coursework and research opportunities
for Primate Behavior & Ecology majors.
Students can conduct primatological and herpetological fieldwork through the Joint CWU-Anhui University Biodiversity
and Primate Field Research Program in Huangshan, China, currently in it's fourth year (Summer 2008). The program is run by Dr. Megan Matheson, Dr. Lori Sheeran, and Dr. Steve Wagner, in association with Anhui University Professor and Provost Dr. Jin-Hua Li.
The Primate Behavior and Ecology Research Room, in Farrell Hall room 320 is open Mondays - Fridays from 9AM - 5PM. The PBE Research Room houses hundreds of primatology related books and journals, and contains computer terminals with internet access as well as access to Observer software.
