Here are, in no particular order, a number of Web sites which deal with various aspects of the world of politics. Scroll down for some useful and informative web sites concerning Afghanistan.

• http://www.theonion.com: Do not enter this site if you don't have an irreverent sense of humor or if you are easily offended. It's usually very amusing, not to be taken seriously at all.

• http://www.wsws.org: This is the World Socialist Web Site - for those who might be interested in an alternative - for most Americans at least - view of the political world.

The Palestinian-Israeli Conflict:

• http://www.haaretzdaily.com: This is the site of one of Israel's most important newspapers. Politically, it's to the left of their spectrum; i.e., opposed to Likud and the Sharon government.
• http://www.jpost.com: This is the site of another of Israel's major papers, The Jerusalem Post. It's on the right or conservative side of the political spectrum.
• http://www.palestinechronicle.com: This is a daily web-based newspaper representing a Palestinian point of view.

Afghanistan:

• http://www.afghan-web.com: Very interesting and useful. Opposed to the current Taliban regime.
