 Reading Program"Today a reader, tomorrow a leader." Omak GEAR UP promotes recreational reading. Last year OMS students competed in the Amazing Reading Race as they raced to read enough pages for their homeroom class to travel from Washington to New York City. One outstanding student read three times the needed pages. This year additional reading incentive programs are planned. Stay tuned for more information and upcoming details. 
Read Across America encourages children to read through annual events celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday. In addition, their website offers suggestions and resources for parents and teachers to encourage reading everyday. Happy Reading! |
