Wildcats chosen for all-star team

The Great Northwest Athletic Conference has selected eight baseball players from Central Washington University men's baseball for the GNAC all-start team.

Seniors Anderw Snowdon and AJ Gosney are selected for the prestigious all-conference first team.

Snowdon finished the season with a team-leading total of 13 doubles.

Gosney led Wildcats baseball in overall batting average.

The conference gave six other players of the Wildcats baseball team second-team all-star recognition.

Baseball players recognized for efforts

As season came to a close last weekend for the Central Washington Wildcats baseball team, a few of the players got recognition for there outstanding play despite their disappointing record.

Seniors AJ Gosney and Andrew Snowdon have been named to the 2009 All Great Northwest Athletic Conference first team.

Snowdon earned honors as catcher on the first team and on the second team as a pitcher.

Along with Snowdon and Gosney getting selected, six others were selected to the second team … Junior first baseman Kevin Schneider, junior outfielder Ricky McKinney, Junior second baseman Jordan Sleek and seniors Josh Murillo and Frank Donangelo. 

Bulldog baseball loses game

After coming off the weekend victory against Quincy, the Bulldogs were sure enough going into dog fight against Selah in Tuesdays contest.

The Bulldogs trailed early in the game nine to nothing against rival Selah in the bottom of the fourth, but the Bulldogs had some fight left in them as the came back with in two runs .

But there late come back was not enough as they fell to Selah nine to seven.

The Bulldogs will now face Wapato High in a district loser-out semi – finals game this Saturday at Ephrata.

First pitch is at 10 a.m..

Bulldog softball awaits districts

With Districts only less than one week away, the 13 and one second place Lady Bulldogs softball team comes into today’s double header against East Valley looking to assert more of their dominance and position themselves to be a higher seed.

Current standings have them one game behind Othello, the only team they lost to this season.

The First double header will start at 4 p.m., the second will start shortly after the first game around 6 p.m.
