Studying Oboe at CWU offers students a challenging environment along with a highly supportive atmosphere. As an oboe student, you will find numerous opportunities to perform in a variety of CWU's ensembles, including the University Symphony, Chamber Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, New Music Ensemble and Woodwind Chamber Ensembles to name a few.

Private instruction and peer learning are critical components utilized to nurture the development of creative and mature musicians and educators. Through a concentrated study of musical fundamentals, students are encouraged to discover their individual musical voices and career paths.

Degrees offered at CWU include Bachelor of Music (BM) in Performance, Education, Composition, or Bachelor of Arts (BA), and Master of Music (MM) in Performance, Performance and Pedagogy, Conducting, and Education.

In addition to the CWU legacy of high academic standards and a rich musical tradition, oboe students become an integral component of the warmth and friendly atmosphere of the Department of Music, have access to a beautiful state-of-the-art facility, and are treated to close student-teacher relationships, small classes, frequent counseling, and an abundance of individual attention.
