Materials: One Guitar. One Pencil.
Prerequisites: Permission Required
Class Objectives: Prepare, perform, develop and explore the ensemble guitar and itsÂ’ literature.

Abilities: Students will apply and develop the following abilities:

1. Communication- Use contextually appropriate language, conventions, or symbols and to demonstrate sensitivity to non-verbal information.


2. Aesthetic Literacy- expressing, critiquing, evaluating, producing and recognizing qualities of beauty.


3. Analytical Reasoning- Apply learning in familiar and new contexts. Applying discipline- specific knowledge, processes, terminology, technology or conventions in various assignments, situations or contexts.



 

Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:


1. Perform in concert
2. Understand their role in ensemble music
3. Have expanded their historic and artistic knowledge
4. Have enlarged their musical sensitivity
5. Follow a conductor
6. Work in harmony

Grading: Final grades are drawn from the sum of the following:
33.33% = Class assignments/daily practice
33.33% = Class participation/attendance
33.33% = Final exam = performance

Grading scale:

A=94-100%, A-=90-93%,
B+=87-89%, B=84-86%, B-=80-83%,
C+=77-79%, C= 74-76%, C-=70-73%,
D+=67-69%, D=60-66%,
F=at or below 59%
