Chamber Choir
Chamber Choir, CWU’s premier choral ensemble, is open to students at the sophomore level or higher.
It rehearses five hours weekly with an additional one hour sectional outside of class. A full academic-year commitment is required.
Chamber Choir aspires to the highest musical standards. A premium is placed on individual musicianship and high levels of musicality through regular individual part checks. Exploring a wide variety of repertoire yearly, careful consideration given to performing music of various periods in the style appropriate to that era.

Performance Opportunities |
The choir maintains a busy performance schedule, with multiple concerts every quarter.
Recent performances of note include appearances at the Inter-collegiate sing (held at Pacific Lutheran University) in 2007, the Washington Music Educators Association state convention in 2008, the Inter-collegiate sing (held at University of Puget Sound) in 2009. The Chamber Choir has been invited to appear on the American Choral Directors Association’s Northwest Divisional Conference in March, 2010 |

The choir also presents major works with orchestra. The recent past has included concerts of Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms in 2007, and Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music in 2008.
Chamber Choir joined the University Chorale and University Symphony Orchestra to present Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony in 2008. The same forces will present Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana in 2010 – both in Seattle’s Benaroya hall and in the superior acoustics of CWU’s concert hall.
