The 2008 CWU Fall Choral Classic Festivalis in the books! Dates: Tuesday & Wednesday November 4-5, 20082007 Report:25 choirs took part in this year's festival; 13 on the first day, 12 on the second. Over 1000 students attended the festival. CWU Performances: Each day, the 30 voice CWU Men's Chorale sang from 8:15 -8:25 a.m.& the 130 voice University Chorale will sing from 11:45-12:10. The day ended with a performance which included CWU's Vocal Jazz I and Chamber Choir Men's Repertoire: Loveliest of Trees from "Songs of a Young Man" - RIchard Nance My Lord, What a Morning - arr. R. General InformationThis is a non-competitive festival designed to enhance open and honest exchange between the clinician/conductor and students. Participation by school groups is by invitation only. We invite choirs from throughout the nortnwest who have gained a reputation of excellence.We at CWU are looking forward to two days of inspired music making! This year, 25 choirs will be a part of this educational and entertaining day. NOTE: CWU accounting will send to you an invoice for the $250 participation fee ($450 for two choirs). Please do not send payment until you receive an invoice from the University.
NOTE: Please provide for the judges three sets of music for each piece you will perform. Measures should be numbered on each score.. Mark each score with your school name to facilitate their return. Please keep copyright laws in mind and plan accordingly. ScheduleEach school will have 25 minutes on stage.. Choirs are encouraged to plan 10-15 minutes of music, allowing one of the adjudicators to spend 10-15 minutes with the group making suggestions. This will be followed by a 25 minute clinic in another room with a second adjudicator. A video (mini DV format) and audio (CD-R) will be made of both the performance and clinic. Each day will also include a 30 minute conducting session, presented by Dr. Nikolas Caoile, CWU's Director of orchestras, for all students. Photos Have your group photographed!
