The Museum of Culture
and Environment is located in the newly renovated Dean Hall on the
Central Washington University campus. The Museum
approaches our diverse and changing world with an interdisciplinary
perspective, examining human life, culture, and our interaction with
the environment.

The Museum
of Culture and Environment is proud to host
River
of Memory: The Everlasting Columbia
during the Fall of 2009. River
of Memory explores
the two
Columbia Rivers which flow through our lives using photographs, poetry,
and music. It celebrates the history of the natural river and diversity
of the
river as we know it today. River of Memory: The Everlasting Columbia, an exhibition organized by
Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center with major funding from MJ Murdock
Charitable Trust and the Icicle Fund.
UPCOMING AT THE MCE
October 10th: A Day at the Museum Join us for a fun filled day of family activities, including crafts, games, and the Wanupum Discovery Van.
October 15th, 4 - 6:30pm: Author Jack Nisbet Jack Nisbet will speak about early exploration of the Columbia. Followed by a book signing and refreshments.
November 6th-28th: The Columbia in Plein-air A collaborative art show at Gallery One in downtown Ellensburg
November 19th, 4 - 6:30pm: Author Dennis Dauble Dennis Dauble will speak about fish and fishing on the Columbia. Followed by a book signing and refreshments.
Hours: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 2 - 6 pm Saturday: 10 am - 3pm Closed Sunday through Tuesday
Fall 2009 Holiday Closures: The MCE will be closed Wednesday, November 11th for Veteran's Day. The MCE will be closed Wednesday, November 25th thru Friday, November 27th for Thanksgiving.
Parking: Free on campus after 4:30 on weekdays Free all day Saturday
