- Use ice! This is probably the best tip. Adding ice to the base cools down the smoke, providing a smoother and more enjoyable smoke.
- Use two pieces of charcoal. This will ensure the longest smoke possible, usually about 1-2 hours.
- Place the charcoal on the outside edge, and move it around as you smoke. Place it in the middle last- this ensures you will use all of the shisha in the bowl.
- Place the charcoal on the bowl after it is lit.
- Do NOT pack the shisha tightly! Crumble up the shisha in your hand and lightly place it in the bowl for better air flow and smoother smoke.
- Keep your shisha in an airtight container. This helps the shisha last longer and keeps it moist (Dry shisha will give you a rough smoke). Most shisha comes in an airtight container, but for those that don't tupperware works well to keep it sealed.
- Lose a ball bearing? Place some rolled up foil or the end of a q-tip in its place until you get a new one-This will keep your seal airtight
- Put water in the base before the ice. This will cool the water better and eliminate the chance of breaking the base.
- Make sure your bowl has an airtight seal on the shaft. If it does not, the best option is a bowl grommet. However, if you don't have one then take a strip of paper towel and wrap it around the shaft.
