Submitting an Assignment - Bb 6

Instructors can create Assignments and add them to a Content area. Assignments list the name, description, and attachments for class work. A student completes the assignment in a separate file and sends it back to the Instructor.

  1. Log on to http://courses.cwu.edu and click on your course. Find the Assignment within one of the Content areas in the course.

  2. Click the View/Complete link for the Assignment.

    view/complete assignment
  3. Read the assignment instructions (if provided) and click on the link to display the assignment information.

  4. The assignment file is displayed. It is recommended that you save a copy of the file. Choose File, Save As from the menu.

    enter title and comments

  5. When you are ready to submit your assignment complete the information in the Your Files area. Enter Comments you may have. Click the Browse button to select the file you would like to send. If you have more than one file to send, after adding the first file, click the Add Another File button. Browse to find the next file.

Note: File names cannot contain any special characters such as # %  . For example, if you have a file named: Paper #1.doc, rename the file to Paper 1.doc, removing the #. Submitting a document to your instructor with a special character will result in the instructor receiving an error when trying to open your submitted assignment.

  6. Locate the file you want to send and click the Open button.

  7. Click the Submit button.

  8. Once the assignment is submitted the file is sent to your instructor. A confirmation message is displayed. Click the OK button.

  9. After your instructor has graded the assignment you can view your grade and your instructor's feedback by clicking on the View/Complete link of the assignment. A message displays notifying you that you have already completed the assignment. Click the OK button to view your results.

  10. Feedback information is displayed.

Note: Selecting the Save button instead of the Submit does not send the file to your instructor. It simply allows you to return to the Assignment to submit at another time.
