Introduction

In this lesson students will be learning about the four seasons: fall, winter, spring, and summer.  For each season we will talk about the daily weather and the characteristics of each season.  We will use books, internet resourses, and educational magazines (National Geographic).  After learning about the four seasons, students will create their own seasons scrapbook.  By the end of this lesson students will be able to answer the question, "What are the characteristics of each season?"

Task

The students will learn information about the four seasons using internet resources, and books read in class.  After researching each season students will create their own scrapbook including picutres that represent each season and at least three characteristics describing each season.  Students will use a combination of their own drawings as well as cut out materials from magazines to show what each season looks like in their perspective.  The students will be graded on whether they have a well represented picture of each season and at least three written facts about each season.

The Process

Students do not need to answer all of the questions listed below but students should take them into consideration when making their scrapbook.

Resources

Students will use the following resources to gain information about the four different seasons.

Evaluation

Students' understanding of the four seasons will be evaluated based on their scrapbook using the following rubric:
