Graduate Studies and Research : Fringe Benefits

Fringe benefits are necessary in all grant proposals in which salary is included as a line item in the budget. A percentage of salary is used to determine fringe benefits for faculty, staff and students.

At Central Washington University fringe benefits requested in grants are determined as:

Faculty, Administrative Exempt Staff, Civil Service Staff - 30% of salary
Temporary, Part-time Staff - 12% of salary
Undergraduate Student - 3% of salary
Graduate Student - 3% of salary, plus medical premium and health center fees of $369 per academic quarter.
