If you have never had these before you must take a road trip to Memphis, TN, the "BBQ capital of the world." The meat just falls off the bones, it is so tender. They also have excellent pork shoulder and a great pecan pie. If you don't like to drive, they ship orders overnight. Just thaw the ribs out, 15 minutes on the grill, and you are ready to feast.

Texas A & M Bassoon Professor and doctoral student at the University of Texas Eric Miller and his wife Sarah travel to Memphis to experience Corky's BBQ first hand.

The is an amazing European dessert consisting primarily of ladyfingers, whipped cream, and mascarpone cheese with a little espresso as well. There are many different varieties of this treat as you can see from the website. I need to stop making it or I'll be putting on a lot of pounds. If anyone has a good ladyfinger recipe, let me know.

Best restaurants in the Ellensburg area:

Cafe Nicholas. 601 University Way. Ellensburg, WA.

So far this is the only decent restaurant I can find. It has some great Cajun dishes including breakfasts as well as some very good pasta. Try the Cajun scrambler for breakfast. If your really hungry for lunch or dinner, try the mufalletta sandwich. You won't even finish a half order!

Best restaurants in the Duluth Area:

Anchor Bar. 413 Tower Ave. Superior, WI.

A dive bar which has some of the best burgers you will ever eat. The service and atmosphere are awful but once you take your first bite, you forget all that. The fries are great as well.

Big Daddy's Burgers. 2828 Piedmont Ave. Duluth, MN.

Another great place for burgers. If you don't like the smoke filled bar atmosphere you will enjoy the large burgers and huge portion of fries they serve. They also have some hot sandwiches served with mashed potatoes and gravy. Mmmm.

Mexican Maya. 1725 Miller Trunk Highway. Duluth, MN.

A fairly new restaurant to the area with a excellent variety of authentic Mexican dishes. I'm only about halfway through the menu but so far my favorite item is the shredded beef chimichanga.

Uncle Louis Cafe. 520 4th St. Duluth, MN.

My favorite breakfast stop. They give you so much food! It's awesome. My favorite has to be the mushroom and swiss omelet with hashbrowns. They also have a stamp card where you buy 10 meals, you then get the 11th free. And they survived the fire!

Favorite Sports Team: Florida State University Seminoles.

Seeing as I received both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from FSU it is no surprise that I am a big fan of all their athletic teams. I do miss attending the home football, basketball, and baseball games. My blood bleeds garnet and gold and I will always support my Noles. Favorite thing about CWU: Wellness Hour.

A few times a week I get to go away from music for a while and play some tennis or work on my jumpshot on the basketball court. I recommend that every person have some sort of hobby/activity outside of their main area of study for stress relief. I am the worst player out there but it doesn't matter; it's all about having fun and getting some exercise.
