Careers

Whether you are interested in Law and Justice as a possible major, or if you are currently a Law and Justice student, you are probably thinking about life after school.

Since Law and Justice prepares its students for real world work, most students go straight from graduation to employment.

These sites are some of the best resources on the Internet for information on careers in Law and Justice and job listings.

For information on careers in general, like how much a police officer makes or how many jobs there will be for lawyers in the next 5 years, the very best resource on the internet is the Bureau of Labor homepage. Everything from statistics to information on hundreds of different careers is available. For the handbook click on publications, then on occupational outlook handbook, for all the most updated information on careers.

If you are looking for a job there are several useful sites that can help. One of the most popular is the Job Factory. It has links to virtually every newspaper in North America, links to recruiters, employers, as well as an area to post your resume online for potential employers to view. Other sites, like CareerMosaic, America's Job Bank and Job-Hunt offer similar tools and resources. For law enforcement and corrections jobs, the link "L.E. Jobs" takes you to Officer.com and the most comprehensive listing of federal, state and local jobs in law enforcement and corrections.
