APOYO means "support" or "aid" in Spanish.
At CWU, APOYO stands for Allied People Offering Year-round Outreach, which runs a food and clothing bank in a Central Washington Universiy-donated space in the alley behind Domino's Pizza between Seventh and Eighth Avenues.
Allied People Offering Year-round Outreach began in 1999 as a non-profit all volunteer organization handing out food and clothing in temporary locations.
It was founded by CWU English professor Philip Garrison, seen here to the bottom right, and friends from the local Latino community.
APOYO is funded in part by the state of Washington through Hope Source.
