Geography of the Pacific Northwest

Journal Articles Critique

Assignment due November 25

You are to choose a set of paired articles: two pertaining to the human geography of the region and two pertaining to the physical geography of the region. The two human geography articles should be related to some specific topic, and the two physical geography articles should be related to some specific topic. You will write a summary and critique of each of your four chosen articles, providing a synopsis and review, and how it relates to the material covered by the required readings. If it does not relate well, do not choose that article. Each critique must be between 2 and 3 pages long, for a total of 8-12 pages.

You should cite each of your articles using the following citation format:
Author. Year. Title of article. Title of journal (italicized), volume (and issue number if available): page numbers.

Example:
Rothman, Hal. 1996. Selling the Meaning of Place: Entrepeneurship, Tourism, and Community Transformation in the Twentieth Century American West. Pacific Historical Review 65(4): 525-557.
