I am giving you this letter to let you know we will be doing a cross-country unit for a week and having a class trip. My intention is to get your child introduced to cross-country skiing and give them the basics to a lifelong activity. If a child grows interest in this activity they will ski their way to health and fitness. Cross-country skiing will develop their cardiovascular system, muscular strength, endurance, flexibility and keep them trim. Cross-country skiing is good for the joints, its an arm, leg workout, its a way to experience the outdoors, and can be done alone or with a group.
The reason I am writing this letter is to inform you of our class trip the day of_____ and to invite you to come along. All you need to do is bring your ski equipment and prepare for a site seeing leisurely workout. We plan to break up into two group one is for a workout and the other is for a site seeing tour. So don't be scared and come along. Transportation will be provided and snacks and hot cocoa on the way home. Please let me know by the following date if you and your child can make it. If equipment is needed check the local outdoor or ski shop for rentals. Email me or contact me by phone.
