The students will learn how to make a shelter from the natural surroundings around them in order to protect themselves from the weather and other animals. The shelters will be build with a water and windproof type structure.
They will also learn how to find what direction they are going in and what way they came from. This will help them to find their way back to their shelter, water or back in the direction that they came from when just before they got lost or stranded.
The students will also have an opportunity to test out their skills out in the wilderness through a campout. The students will set up a camp and create a safe shelter with the basic necessities.
