Teach students how to approach
the board for take off.

the proper technique of an appraoch.
Instant Activity: Keep

Introduction to class:

Show the class the diving board(s)

Show them the fulcrum and how to move it.

Tell when you would want to move it (Stiff for back dive,
looser for front dives).

Show a diving video so they can see what diving looks like
or do a self demonstration.
Instuctions to class:

Walk out to the end of the board and assume a relaxed position.

Take four steps starting with your jumping foot and mark
where you end up on the board. (This is now your starting point)

From your starting point practice walking out to the end
of the board with your three step approach.

Each time you should start with your jumping foot first.
-
You should end up in the same place every time (approximately
1-2 feet from the end of the board so that you have room for your hurdle).
Success Goal:
-
Walk out to the end of the board and stop in the same place
10 times.
