2.  the students will demonstrate the use of at least 4 tools.

Teacher objectives:
1.  The students should receive some practice in working on their bikes.

Set Induction:
A tool kit covering every possible repair would be impossible to carry on your bike.  Today we will work with some tools that should be in a basic pack of indispensable tools.  The basic tool kit should cover the most common repairs: flat tires, loose bolts, chain and shifting hitches, and wheel problems.

The basic tool kit:

• Spare inner tube
• Tire patch kit
• Tire levers
• Tire pressure gauge
• Pump
• Box wrench set.  American or metric depending on your bike.
• Chain rivet tool
• Spoke wrench
• Repair tape and bailing wire
• 6'' slip joint pliers or 6" adjustable wrench
• Swiss army knife or utility tool.

Activity:
The students will spend the lesson tightening and adjusting handlebars and seats. the amount of maintenance would be based on the safety check that was done earlier in the unit.
