Here are a few sample lesson plans for the in-line skating unit. You are welcome to use these in your own classes.

In-line Skating Lesson Plan #1

Class: In-line Skating             Date/Time: Tuesday/10:00 a.m.             # of Students: 20

 Equipment: Supplied by Rollerblade (skates, helmet, and protective pads)

 Teacher Objective: Introduce in-line skating equipment and safety.

 Learning Objective: Students will demonstrate proper use, fitting and maintenance of equipment and safety.

Falling

1. While standing stationary, students will practice falling onto knee pads and then rolling onto the wrist guards.
 

2. Now students will put on in-line skates and try the same thing. Remember it is more difficult to get up with skates on. Keep your weight evenly distributed.

Students will stand with plenty of space around them. (protective equipment is on but no skates yet)
