| Target Relay (Lesson #10) | ||||||||||||||
| Description: Players are
divided into relay teams; each group is given one ball. In a relay format,
one player runs to the six meter line, takes a shot on goal (3' x 3'
target on wall). Then the player must gather the ball and run to return it
to the next team member in line who will repeat the process. For every
successful shot on goal, a point is awarded. Try to keep teams around
three players so that each student gets as much repetition as
possible. Modification: In order to encourage more accurate shooting, make different areas of the target worth different amounts of points. Also, you may have different rounds where successful throws are worth more (progressive with more rounds is a possibility). Modification: Add some kind of a blockage to the goal or target area to simulate a goalie and make the activity more difficult. *Note* If you use an actual goalie, you may want to use a softer ball for safety reasons.
