| In addition to the
assessment (formal and informal) that is ongoing in each one of these
lessons, there will be a final unit assessment. The goal of this
assessment is not only to decifer the amount of information about Team
Handball that the students learned, but also to acknowledge the sport and
begin to spread it's popularity. There will be three options for students
to choose from: Option #1- Students will complete a poster that will be graded upon creativity and identification of the reasoning behind and proper ways to perform the different skills within Team Handball. Option #1 Scoring Rubric Option #2- Students will write a letter to either the USTHA, USOC or the IHF in response to the Team Handball unit they just completed. This letter should include a summary of what they learned, any AHA'S! they encountered, and some type of request for any materials or guest speakers that the organization supplies. Option #2 Scoring Rubric Option #3- Students will act as teachers for the day to a group of elementary students. Each student who chooses this will be given approximately 2 students to be in charge of (can be varied). Students have the option of joining forces with other students to make their teaching more effective, or teach on their own. This teaching should include basic activities for the students and some type of preview of the sport (videos, speakers). The teaching will be videotaped and the elementary students, themselves, will do an assessment of the teaching student's performance. Option #3 Scoring Rubric | ||||||||||||
