Long Tours Versus Short Tours

These are the items you will need for the day tour (short tour) that will be made.  You can see in comparison how much more involved overnight or extremely long trips are to plan for.  There is the complete list on the equipment page.
 
 

Long Tours vs. Short Tours
Long Tours (usually involves camping)
Short Tours (Day Tours)
bike panniers (luggage) back pack or rear carrier (basket)
food (dry goods, items that will last a long time) snack, lunch, snack (items that stay fresh for @ 6 hours)
maps of every city (taped on handle bars) map of ride area
all conditions clothing needed (rain gear, reflective, overnight, "night out", etc.)  clothing for cold and hot weather
waterbottle attachment to bike, water and filtration system waterbottle in bag;  water for the day
tool box for repairs air foam for flat and adjustable wrench
reflectors and flashing lights for night riding money (small amount), enough for call home or small snack items
money (large amounts), secure box or safe bicycle lock
bicycle lock sunscreen/lotion
All overnight toiletries sunglasses or hat
Insurance swimsuit, small towel (optional)
flashlight necessities first aid kit (teacher will supply)
full first aid kit
tent
sleeping bag
cook stove, pots & pans, cups, & utensils
fenders, rain skirts
following car called a "sag-wagon" (if available)
