Lesson activity: (materials needed: balls, lines and task cards)
Instant Activity: Throw and send it
Today the students will learn how to throw different shooting techniques. I will have each of the shots demonstrated at the beginning and then let the students practice the different shots. These are the shots:
1. Bowled delivery-The bowl is delivered underarm to run along the ground and end up as near to the pallino as possible.
2. Raised bowl-The bowl is delivered underarm through the air to end up as near as possible to the pallino.
3. Throw-The bowl is thrown underarm into the air after a run-up, the objective being to displace either the pallino ball or an opponents bowl.
The students can practice the different shots by trying to roll it past a certain line, try to get it as close to a line as possible and have in land in a certain area like between two field lines. The students can practice trying to get their own balls as close to each other as possible.
If the students need some competition to keep them more interested have them compete again one another or a group of people. This will keep their interest and have them practicing.
The students should have one foot slightly in front of one another, weight transfer and release the ball in front of them in the desired direction.
