 Rock climbing is one of the fastest growing outdoor sports for males and females. Done properly it is no more risky than other sports. Be sure to learn the proper skills before trying to climb outdoors. Climbing in a gym is a great way to stay in shape.

Rock climbing shoes are a real plus. You can rent them at Gymnastics Plus for $2.00/session. If you went often it would be worth buying your own. Some great climbing is available outdoors but you should try to find someone experienced to take you and teach you safe climbing techniques. Gymnastics Plus offer classes in the summer. Mountain High Sports in Ellensburg rents climbing shoes, and has videos and climbing equipment.
