Becoming Acquainted with Statistical Concepts
Student Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to:
- State, explain, and provide practical examples of the three
types of observations that different statistical procedures allow.
- Explain differences between positive and negative correlations.
- Describe and explain differences between three different sampling
methods.
- Give examples to illustrate understanding of the two principle
questions that statistics answer.
- Explain the concept of probability and how this concept is
used when conducting experimental research.
- Show an understanding of type I and type II errors by providing
a practical example.
