Research Methods
Formulating the Method
Student Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to:
- Identify the typical four section format of the Methods chapter
and describe the essential types of information to be included
in these sections (subjects, instruments, procedures, design and
analysis)
- Present an example to illustrate the significance of the MaxMinCon
principle when designing and conducting research.(how do we maximize
true variance, minimize error variance, and control extraneous
variance? See pp. 148-150)
- Describe the value of piloting studies (avoiding methodological
flaws)
