Students will be able to:

1. Identify similarities and differences between the four principle survey techniques. (Questionnaires, the Delphi Method, the Personal Interview, and the Normative Survey.)
2. Explain the value of longitudinal and cross-sectional designs in developmental research (Following the same subjects over a period of time versus examining differences between several different age-based samples on similar items of interest.)
3. Recognize examples of descriptive case studies.
4. Recognize examples of observational research.
