Overall Changes
The new login screen provides a drop-down list for different languages to login with.

Once logged in, the following screen displays:

All of your message will display instead of only 20 at a time. A scrollbar appears if there's not enough screen to display all of your messages.
No need for a restart if you change the time on your computer - GroupWise will automatically update its time to match.
Manage your contacts easier either through the new tab at the top or the folder on the left navigation pane. They both open a screen similar to the following:

- Click on a contact in the right pane then click on the QuickViewer button on the toolbar to see details about that contact.
Note: You will see more and can change information about contacts in your personal address books. The information in the GroupWise Address Book is maintained by the system administrator.

The Summary tab contains information about that contact, if you've put any in such as web address, birthday/anniversary date, etc.
The Notes tab shows you any notes you've posted about this contact.
The History tab displays all items sent to and received by that contact.
- Double-click on the contact name in the right pane to open a window where you can modify the contact information.
- Use the New button on the toolbar to add contacts/groups/organizations to any personal address book.
There are two new folders types: RSS Feeds and Tasklist.
With the GroupWise 8 client, you can setup a folder to display RSS feeds. This folder will then appear in GroupWise on the web called GroupWise Feeds. You cannot setup RSS feed folders from GroupWise on the web.
The Tasklist folder replaces the Checklist folder from previous versions of GroupWise with some minor improvements. This folder can contain all of your tasks. If you post a task to your calendar, it shows up in the Tasklist folder.
Note: If you want items from your Tasklist to appear on your calendar, make sure they have a due date.
Use Categories to color code your e-mail messages and/or your calendar appointments.
- Right-click on an item (e-mail or appointment) and select Categories from the shortcut menu that appears.
The following window displays.

To apply an existing Category from the list available (your screen will likely look different than the one above),
- Check the box next to the Category you want, then click OK.
To create a new Category,
- Type in your new category name at the bottom of the window, click Add, then you'll be able to assign a color to it either/both the Text of the category and the Background.
Note: There is also a Category button on the toolbar when viewing Mailbox items that you can click on to bring up the same Category window as shown above.

Email Changes
No more losing e-mails! If you are composing an e-mail and GroupWise crashes, the next time you startup GroupWise, you'll be prompted to recover or delete the message you were working on. If you recover the message and send it, the saved version is automatically deleted. These saved files are stored in your Work In Progress folder with a special notation in the file name.
When you open a new Mail Message window, you'll see a new toolbar below the address fields (if not, click on HTML button on the toolbar).
This new toolbar provides new formatting options for GroupWise on the web - HTML. You can jazz up your messages with different fonts, colors, pictures, etc. without the need to know HTML code.

If you notice red squiggly lines underneath the words you are typing in a message, they could signify a misspelled word. This feature is similar to what is used in other programs such as Word.

Calendar Changes
The calendar in the new web version looks more like the PC client version.

To quickly add any appointment, note or task in Day view (show above), just click in the appropriate grid (note: you can still use the New button and select from the list).
- For notes and tasks, you can just start typing in the “Add a ...” field and press Enter when done.
For appointments, the following window appears.

The ability to create/use multiple calendars has been around on the PC client version of GroupWise since 7.0. It is now available on all versions of GroupWise. With GroupWise on the web,
- Create a new calendar through the New drop-down menu, and Calendar.
If you have more than one calendar, you'll see a list in the left pane.

- Show or hide calendars by checking or un-checking the box next to the calendar name.
- Click on the drop-down arrow next to the calendar name and select Share.
- Locate the user, click on the Add User button (the screen will flash and a message noting the shared list has been saved will appear).
The other user will get an e-mail message alerting them that you have shared your calendar. If they click on the Accept Calendar button on the toolbar within the message, that calendar with then appear on their list of calendars.
Note: You cannot publish your main calendar, only personal ones you've created.
In the left pane of the Calendar window is a list of calendars to which you have access (personal plus shared, etc.).
- Park your mouse over one of your personal calendars that you've created.
- Click on the black drop-down arrow that appears once you've parked your mouse over the calendar name.
- Select the Publish option.

- Fill out the appropriate field for how much and how long you want to publish your calendar and Save.
Note also the option to Send Publish Location button. This sends an e-mail to whomever you want to be able to see the published calendar.
To print your calendar, just click on the Print View hyperlink at the top right of the calendar display.
A window similar to the following appears.

The Print this page hyperlink at the top sends the page to your printer as is.
