STRATEGIC BUSINESS PLAN

In support of Central Washington University’s Strategic Plan and the Academic mission of the University, the University’s first comprehensive IT Strategic Plan was developed in June of 2004. The purpose of this plan is to assure that the direction of and investments for information technology at CWU are inline with the overall goals and vision of the greater University. This plan is scheduled for its first major update to be released in December 2007.

The IT Strategic Plan was the result of the combined work of representation from the major information technology service areas on campus.

In addition to the IT Strategic Plan, a separate Strategic and Operational Plan was developed by the major IT support group on campus, the Information Technology Services (ITS) Department. The ITS Department Strategic Plan identifies the major goals of this department, with regards to the overall technology infrastructure at CWU.

The ITS Strategic Plan is also scheduled for a major update release in December 2007.

The Department’s mission is:

“The ITS Department provides quality IT services and systems to meet the current and future information technology requirements of Central Washington University’s staff, faculty, and students in support of the academic mission of the University”.
