Subject: BlackBerry in the news
Description: You may or may not have heard about the court case involving RIM (the company that makes the Blackberry PDAs) and a possible patent infringement. Some of the headlines have dramatically claimed that Blackberry service will be shut down in the near future, unless RIM complies with the court ruling immediately. ITS has been monitoring this case, and at this point there is no credible indication that your Blackberry service is going to be shut down in the foreseeable future. We are keeping tabs on the situation and will keep everyone updated if there are any changes to the situation. With over 4,000,000 Blackberry users worldwide, many in law enforcement and emergency services, it is very unlikely that a shutdown of Blackberry services will occur. Here are some of the articles that have been released on the subject.
