Mac OSX 10.4 & 10.5 Universal Download Instuctions

Step 1: Install

• Download the appropriate configuration file to your desktop.
  • For Students: Download
  • For Faculty and Staff: Download
• Then download the VPN installer image
  • VPN Client: Download (File Size - 14.8mb)
  • Open the resulting CiscoVPNClient folder that is now on your desktop
  • Run the Cisco VPN Client.mpkg file by double clicking it
• Accept all of the defaults during the installation process and select your hard drive as the destination.

Step 3: Start Using VPN Client

• When it is finished installing, run the VPN client.
• On the main page of the client, press the import button, point to the configuration file that you downloaded to your Desktop and press open.
  • The configuration file is named either CWU_Staff.pcf or CWU_Students.pcf. These files generate a connection entry that you need in the next step.
• After establishing a connection to your ISP, highlight the appropriate connection entry and press the connect button in the VPN Client application.
• When prompted enter your eDir (NetWare) distinguished username and password.
  • The username must include your context and requires a period prepended to it, e.g. .wellington.ath.saffairs.cwu.
