Janus Pannonius University, which has 5,000 students, is the second largest arts and sciences university in Hungary, and dates back to 1367.

Program Site:

The two campuses of Janus Pannonius University (JPU) are situated in the historic inner city of Pecs (pronounced "pay-ch"). Pecs is the intellectual and cultural center of southern Hungary, containing four higher educational institutes.

Exchange Program:

Exchange opportunities are available for faculty in history, political science, sociology, economics, business, cultural and art history, literature, education, psychology, international law, comparative linguistics, and various foreign languages.

Language of Instruction:

Hungarian or English.

Language Notes:

No language requirement. Knowledge of Hungarian or German would be helpful.

Length of Exchange:

Varies.

Accommodations:

A furnished apartment will be provided, however under some circumstances alternative housing may be arranged for the faculty member.

Application Process:

Applications are due during fall quarter. Faculty are encouraged to pick up CWU applications during Spring or Summer quarters of the year prior to the exchange.

CWU faculty retain salary and benefits. CWU provides roundtrip transportatin to Pecs.
