Sponsoring Institution: Northern Jiaotong University

Northern Jiaotong University (NJU) was founded in 1903. In 1921, it merged with Shanghai and Tangshan Technical Schools to create Jiaotong University. In 1960 it was named Northern Jiaotong University by the State Council. NJU host 7 colleges, 13 departments and 20 research experiment centers.

Exchange Program:

Faculty teach conversational English and American Culture. No previous teaching experience in those areas is required. Faculty also may teach a course in their discipline if circumstances permit.

No language requirement.

Length of Exchange:

Normally, exchanges are for one quarter. However, in certain cases, short-term visits are possible (one month minimum).

Application Process:

Applications are due during fall quarter. Faculty are encouraged to pick up CWU applications during Spring or Summer quarters of the year prior to the exchange.

Conditions:

Subject to the approval of all the appropriate authorities, Central Washington University faculty will retain their salary and benefits. The Office of International Studies and Programs provides roundtrip airfare for the selected participant.
