Admission to a Safety and Health Management (SHM) program is a separate acceptance process from the university admission process. SHM programs are competitive entry determined by space availability each quarter. Requirements for admission to a program have been established to assure that incoming students have an adequate general education background including mathematics, psychology, natural sciences, and computer skills. The intent is to increase each student's opportunity for success once they enter the program. The admission process to one of the SHM programs includes five distinct steps: 1. Apply and be admitted to Central Washington University online for the Ellensburg campus or for the Lynnwood or Des Moines centers. 2. Complete and submit the pre-major application form to Kristine Geckle. 3. Complete SHM program prerequisites and related requirements as listed on the application for the SHM degree program the student wishes to enter. 4. Submit your SHM program application materials as specified on the program application form to Kristine Geckle by the application due date for the quarter you wish to start. The program application materials may be submitted by email attachment, fax, or mail.
