Construction Management : Student Activities |
Students are strongly encouraged to become involved with at least one, if not both, of the student chapters represented by the CMGT program: The Association of Construction ManagersThis is the student chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and is sponsored by the AGC of Washington. The club's activities include field trips, community service projects and hosting guest speakers at chapter meetings. The student chapter also sponsors a welcome back barbeque at the beginning of fall quarter. Annual scholarships are also available to members of this organization. Professor Carns serves as the faculty advisor. The HomeBuildersThis student organization is the student chapter of the National Association of Home Builders and is sponsored by the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish counties. Activities include community service projects and field trips to construction sites. Professor Whelan serves as the faculty advisor. Sigma Lambda ChiThis is a national honor society for Construction Management students. Each spring prospective members are invited to join, based on their academic record. This club's activities include a community service project. Professor Plugge serves as the faculty advisor.
Student Mentoring ProgramThe student mentoring program was created to provide advice, support, and help to underclassmen and transfer student who will be applying or have recently been accepted to the Construction Management Program. |
