Construction Management : Student Activities |
Students are strongly encouraged to become involved with at least one, if not both, of the student chapters represented by the CMGT program: The Association of Construction ManagersThis is the student chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and is sponsored by the AGC of Washington. The club's activities include field trips, community projects, prov iding guest speakers at meetings and the publishing of a resume booklet that is sent to all AGC members in Washington each spring. Annual scholarships are also available to members of this organization. Professor Carns serves as the faculty advisor. The HomeBuildersThis student organization is the student chapter of the National Association of Home Builders and is sponsored by the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish counties. Activities include regular meeting with guest spea kers, community projects and field trips to construction sites. Annual scholarships are made available to members. Professor Calhoun serves as the faculty advisor. Sigma Lambda ChiIs a national honor society for Construction Management Students. Each spring prospective members are invited to join based on their past scholarship. This club's activities includes a community project and sponsors the annual fall welcome back BBQ. Professor Bender is the faculty advisor.
Student Mentoring ProgramThe student mentoring program was created to provide advice, support, and help to underclassmen and transfer student who will be applying or have recently been accepted to the Construction Management Program. |
